Mount Gambier Cattle Market Report - 15th March 20SA Livestock Exchange report date 01 Nov A smaller yarding of very mixed quality young cattle sold to erratic competition provided by the usual trade and export buyers. Feeder buyers were active but lower prices for steers, however better quality heifers were pursued at dearer prices. Few vealers were yarded, small butchers were keen to source the quality steers at rates on a par with last week, best quality B muscled yearlings attracted prices on a par with the previous week's sale but C muscled cattle prices lifted.
Cow numbers were higher, one large draft was sold on a dollars per head basis and restockers outbid processors. Bulls continue to attract strong bidding from feeders and processors.
Feeders were active on the light and medium weight yearling heifers.

SA Livestock Exchange report date 02 Nov A smaller yarding of mixed quality young lambs sold to strong competition, provided by the usual trade and processor buyers. Feeder buyers from the mid north and Adelaide plains were more active on a good selection of lightweight crossbreds.
Merino lamb numbers were fewer and restockers and feeders were keen to secure numbers at higher values and trade and processor buyers paid dearer rates for the few quality Merinos available. A similar size yarding of mixed quality sheep sold to stronger processor demand, supplied by the usual buyers.
